Tim Hudak - CEO

Ontario Real Estate Association

Tim Hudak is the CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association, Canada’s largest provincial real estate industry association representing 81,000 REALTORS®. He joined OREA in 2016. With a passion and voice for championing the dream of home ownership, Tim came to OREA following a distinguished 21-year career in politics, including five years as Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. In his role, Tim has focused on transforming OREA into Ontario’s most cutting-edge professional association at the forefront of advocacy on behalf of REALTORS® and consumers, and providing world-class conferences, standard forms, leadership training and professional guidance to its Members. Under his leadership, the Association has attracted some of the most influential people to speak at their conferences, had historic wins in advocacy, including the passage of the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA) in 2020, and demonstrated strong thought leadership in the real estate industry. As part of his work at OREA, Tim was named one of the most powerful people in North American residential real estate by Swanepoel Power 200 for the last five years. In 2021, he was also named to the Government of Ontario’s new Housing Affordability Taskforce, which will explore measures to address housing affordability and job creation. Tim is married to Deb Hutton, and together they have two daughters, Miller and Maitland. In his spare time, Tim enjoys trails less taken on his mountain bike or hiking shoes as well as grilling outdoors.

Lisa brings more than 20 years of business development and leadership experience to her role as Director of Business & Investment Attraction for Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development & Tourism. Her work in economic development spans over the areas of business retention & expansion, labour, rural economic development, business & investment attraction, and business & economic recovery. Today, Lisa plays a critical role in attracting new investment to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo. Prior to moving to Fort McMurray to pursue a career in economic development, Lisa supported the business community in a commercial financing capacity by leading the Commercial Credit department for Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union.

Bruce Livingstone - Economic Development Manager

Bruce Livingstone is the new Economic Development Manager for the City of Abbotsford where his portfolio includes business retention and expansion, business attraction, film and corporate sponsorship. Bruce was previously the Business Retention and Expansion Officer at the City of Maple Ridge.

Bruce is a certified Economic Development professional and holds a BBA with a specialization in entrepreneurship. Prior to working in economic development, Bruce worked in marketing communications for both Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Douglas College. He is a long-time resident of Abbotsford and is excited to be contributing to the growth and development of his hometown—the economic and cultural hub of the Fraser Valley.

Ben Young - Director, Investment Attraction

Ben is the Director of Investment Attraction with Economic Development Lethbridge. His work includes leading Economic Development Lethbridge’s’ investment attraction strategies and driving collaboration with regional partners on key initiatives like Canada’s Premier Food Corridor, Canada’s Western Gateway and the Southern Alberta Investment and Trade Initiative to name just a few. He completed his bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Lethbridge and has completed a project management certificate through the Project Management Institute. He is passionate about helping to support and grow businesses in Southern Alberta and has worked in economic development in the region for more than a decade. He is also a current Board member of Economic Developers Alberta, Community Futures Chinook and the Lethbridge Badminton Club.

A long-time Airdrie resident, Christa has 15 years experience in the corporate legal industry and spent over 10 years in residential real estate gaining experience in internal governance, sales, and operations with prominent residential land developers and home builders. She has a technical Diploma from SAIT, a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from UBC, and a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo. She currently serves on the BILD Calgary Region Foundation Board of Governors and a number of other BILD committees. She is passionate about continuous improvement, economic development and Airdrie.
